Behind the Crest

This has been a place for those who see things others don’t. Who see renewal in the Paluxy's healing waters and footprints in the riverbeds. Those willing to walk between worlds for what they believe in. There’s something in the earth here that conspires to help those who make the leap — who give pieces of themselves to this valley.

How else can you explain this place flourishing from dinosaur bones?

When Charles Barnard settled untamed wilderness near Comanche Peak in 1849, he would never imagine what we've made of our community; but one thing holds true over 175 years,  we've kept the wild in us.

We've retained our intrepid spirit, and staked our claim where only legends dare go.

THE BALL

An ode to the history of the game; Association Football is a time-honored sport that spans generations, much like the prehistoric period fossils we proudly display in our museums here in Somervell county.

THE TYGER

Early heraldry featured tigers born from the imagination of artists who had never encountered them, relying instead on rumors of their speed and ferocity; today, these legendary creatures symbolize formidable strength and resolute courage

THE WING

An emblem of conviction, uniting our community  through shared principles, internal grit, and ambition.

COLORS

These hues are congruent with our school district while also representing the  content of our character; Red for our passion and tradition, White for our faith and purity of purpose, Black for our intensity and prestige.
